STARTING MERP IN THE BAHAMAS

It has been a really long time since I wrote my first blog, but I never felt I had anything substantial to say or that we did anything of note. Now that we are so far from home, I am trying to turn a new leaf and write all our adventures down so that family and friends can know what we are up to. Reed was accepted to the MERP program for the American University of the Caribbean (AUC) and we flew down to Freeport, Bahamas to start that November 27, 2012.

We didn't really have any idea what to expect, but I can say we were thinking more of a tourist town with lots of resorts. :) It was not exactly what we were thinking mind you, I'll first give a tour of our apartment. It is called Channel House Resort, but I'm not sure I would go that far. It is a pretty nice, studio apartment and came fully furnished, which is so nice for us.

Here is a look from one corner of the apartment to the other. We have the far left door going into the bathroom and the second door is our closet.








This is a picture of our kitchen which has all the necessary commodities, complete with a fridge where the door opens the wrong way. It has required some adjusting. :)






Here is the other half of the apartment with Reed showcasing our full sized bed. The bed does have wheels and as you can see all the floors are tile. This poses a problem any time we sit on the bed, as it shifts 2-3 feet. We've got a good system though.
