Downtown St. George's

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit downtown St. George's. This was my first time downtown and I was excited to see more of the culture and everyday life. Our first stop was at the market. Everyday they have booths set up for people to sell their homemade goods, fruits and vegetables, or spices. 

If you happen to need someone investigated, and have not yet had the chance to do personal shopping, you're in the right place.

Our next stop was the fish market. This market is super cheap and fish over 2 feet long sell for about $10. I really tried hard to like fish...but even the good price was not worth it.







There are school buses that run to a few areas of the island, but not many. For everywhere else, there are reggae buses and taxis. This is the downtown terminal. These vans may look like they hold 7 people, but 14-15 is the usual.

Here is one of the many malls around the island. They all sell the same type of stuff, trinkets and memorabilia to the tourists. I wouldn't go there if you need anything substantial.

This store was by far the favorite of the whole trip. All these treats reminded me of Kneaders, with their half off sales Saturday nights. I will definitely be taking Reed here.

The boatyard behind the mall is fairly large and most of the cruise ships dock here. We didn't get to see any while we were there though.
